Job Description

    • Use data research to identify the best mix of media channels for our clients’ target audience (demographic, geographic, etc.) based upon usage patterns and seasonal factors, as well as the clients’ budget
    • Help prepare and present recommendations/proposals internally and to clients about the most effective media combinations, timings, and cost breakdowns, helping clients to reach a final decision about their future media strategy
    • Vendor communication and ability to negotiate the best rates in traditional and digital media according to the market, as well as recognize opportunities for earned media and/or added value
    • Help manage insertion orders with vendors
    • Queue up media buys with internal team
    • Help to ensure final assets are trafficked on time, correctly, and with needed tagging and measurement protocols
    • Assist accounting team in authorization of payment for media buys
    • Help manage budgets and reconcile media spend on a daily, weekly, monthly, and annual basis for internal and client-facing purposes
    • Help monitor and update internal teams and clients on the effectiveness of campaigns
    • Maintain contacts with vendors, ensuring statistics, circulation, and viewing figures are up to date


    • Bachelors degree in Media Studies, Marketing, Advertising, or equivalent experience
    • 3+ years of experience in media planning/buying (either agency or in-house)
    • Knowledge in all forms of media including broadcast, print, out-of-home, and all digital advertising forms – paid search, display, email, content integration, etc.
    • Creative ability and an interest in media and people’s motivations and the role media channels play in this
    • Strong analytical abilities and research skills
    • Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills
    • Able to manage multiple projects through effective levels of organization and delegation to meet tight deadlines
    • Highly detailed and results-oriented
    • Resourceful and creative, logical thinker, and confidence in negotiating
    • Good team and interpersonal skills
    • Self-driven with a strong work ethic
    • Fun, energetic attitude
    • Google Analytics proficiency recommended
    • Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets proficiency recommended
