Workhorse recently celebrated its 16th year in business, a number that feels small and large at the same time. It feels like only yesterday that we opened up shop and started serving our first clients. It has been an honor to help hundreds of other clients grow their businesses.
In fact, one of Workhorse’s very first clients, Frost Gelato, is still with us today. It’s been a pleasure to see Frost Gelato grow from one location in Tucson, Arizona to 20+ locations worldwide.
Our first office was a tiny room, probably 90 square feet, tucked inside an office building. While the office was small, this was one of many expenses our little bootstrapped company had to overcome. Despite its size, it served us well for a year while we built a book of business.
Fast forward to 2019 and approximately seven locations later; the Workhorse headquarters has grown to over 7,000 square feet of office space, with multiple conference rooms, work rooms, a media studio and more. Our team has expanded to 23 full-timers plus a significant team of incredible contractors. Although there have been many changes, Workhorse’s passion for branding, marketing and advertising to help clients achieve success remains constant.
Continued Growth and Evolution
As Workhorse’s team and office space has grown, so have our offerings. Once considered a “project shop”, Workhorse is now a full-service branding, marketing and advertising agency doing world-class work for industry-leading brands. Some of our clients depend on us to be their entire outsourced marketing department.
To get here, we’ve had to add new skillsets while evolving to overcome multiple changes to the marketing and advertising landscape. In this business, one thing is certain — you must continue to push forward, seeking newer and better ways of doing things.
As Workhorse’s growth trend continues, we were honored to have been named in Austin Business Journal’s list of the top 50 fastest growing companies in central Texas (2 years in a row) and the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing companies in America (3 years in a row).

Giving Back to Our Community
Whether volunteering our time, donating money or donating work, we pride ourselves in giving back to the community. Over the years, Workhorse has given back the financial equivalent of hundreds of thousands of dollars. It’s a conscious choice to give back to our beautiful Austin community.
Although the timing wasn’t planned, I don’t think it was ironic that our latest community project occurred in our anniversary month of July. The Workhorse team spent a good portion of a Friday helping Carrying Hope prepare Hope Packs. Carrying Hope’s goal is for every child in the Central Texas area to receive a Hope Pack to help them adjust when they enter the foster care system.
Workhorse is dedicated to continually helping and supporting our clients while expanding our capabilities. We’re 16 years in and just getting started. With our team constantly adapting and growing, we’re excited to see where the next 16 years will take us.
